Ridgewood defeated River Ridge 56-8 on Friday, Aug. 21, at Hanover (River Ridge) in a non-conference opener. The Spartans moved to 1-0 overall, scoring 56 points while allowing only eight, and opened a one-game winning streak. River Ridge fell to 0-1, giving up 56 points and recording just eight of their own. Both teams finished last season at 4-5.
