The Heat improved to 1-0 on the season while holding opponents to 12 points, bringing their points-for total to 32 and points-against to 12. Cornell-Woodland fell to 0-1, matching their points-against to 32 and scoring 12. Both programs open the year with new records after last season's 7-2 and 5-3 finishes, respectively. West Central heads to an away game at Blue Ridge on Aug. 28, and Cornell-Woodland will host West Prairie the same week.
